(For four drinks)
9 jiggers good bourbon
3 Tbs. sweet vermouth
Dried pitted cherries soaked in
sweet vermouth
Mix liquors together in a shaker
with ice, shake briefly, and pour into martini glasses. Don’t let it get
watered down. (It’s called a Manhattan, not a Staten Island.) Thread three
good brandied cherries on a toothpick and lean them against the side of the glass. Serve two
rounds to your date, skip dinner, get naked, and survive the dreary death
months with a warm buddy and your new favorite cocktail.
